They will forget everything about you

22nd of August, 2024

On Saturday you perform a close up gig at a wedding. Everything goes really well. You wake up smiling the next morning, job well done.

Meanwhile on the other side of town, a hungover guest from the wedding is having brunch with their friends.

The friends ask, "What was it like? Was the wedding fun?"

"Yeah, the food was great, the liquor was flowing, a lot of friends were there. All in all, a great party. The wedding band was actually really good. We danced until midnight. Oh, and there was this... uhm.. what was his name.. well there was this magician who went from table to table."

"What did he do?"

"Well.. let me think... he did some card tricks, and he had these soft red balls that vanished from my hand and teleported in his hand. Oh wait, it was the other way around. Anyway, he was pretty good."

"Sounds like fun."

"Yeah, it was fun."

After your performance the clock starts ticking.

The next day they might remember what you look like.

Few days from that, they remember that there was a magician who did some tricks with red balls.

A week from that, they remember that there was a magician.

A month from that, they don't even remember that they have seen a magician.

They will forget everything about you.

And you will forget everything about them.

Make most out of the moment.

Make them feel special.

Share the wonder.

Enjoy your time together.

That's ultimately the only thing we have.

And, if you really want to be remembered.

You need to figure out what's there to remember about you.

If the only thing you come up is your color-of-choice sponge balls. Or you being able to guess whether they draw a boat or a tree.

The game is already over.
